Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with AFA’s mission and goals
Lead a team of development professionals to effectively implement fundraising strategies
Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and other key stakeholders
Identify new funding opportunities and develop creative approaches to secure philanthropic support
Oversee all aspects of donor stewardship, including gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting
Collaborate with senior leadership to set fundraising goals and track progress towards meeting objectives
Manage the budget for the department and ensure financial targets are met
Experience using and managing donor pipelines through CRMS
Monitor fundraising performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize revenue generation
Represent the organization at events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to promote philanthropic partnerships

Required

A CFRE Certification
Extensive, demonstrated experience fundraising for a nonprofit
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising or development roles
At least 3 years in a leadership position securing six and seven-figure gifts/donations
Experience using and managing donor pipelines through CRMS

Preferred

Master's degree
Knowledge of the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Space Force, and their adjacent industries
