Responsibilities

Assists pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medication
Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules and prepares labels for bottles
Fills medications orders for individual patients under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
Receives and stores incoming supplies
Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
Prepares intravenous (IV) medication using sterile technique under the supervision of hospital pharmacists
