Visual Information Specialist (Multimedia) (Seasonal)
USAJOBS, part of the National Park Service, is seeking a Visual Information Specialist (Multimedia) for a temporary position. The role involves planning visual aspects of printed materials and preparing audio-visual presentations for online consumption, as well as maintaining web pages and digital media collections.

Responsibilities
Following established guidelines, plans the visual aspects of printed materials such as books, pamphlets, magazines, newspapers, posters, handouts, activity schedules, bulletins, technical reports, trip planners, periodicals, and other similar material which is produced by a printing process
Prepares audio-visual presentations generally for online consumption. In other situations, uses electronic devices to activate displays or to enable viewers to access information by a variety of electronic means. Assists in creating special effects using special lighting, video displays, narration, music, and sound effects
Assists and supports context maintenance and development of web pages and social media sites. Follows established policy, protocols, and best practices for social media and website development and maintenance
Using digital images, video, and graphics created electronically, maintains the Media Project components of the park website or applications on smart phones and other portable devices
Maintains a digital image collection (photographs, video, static and live-streaming web cameras) and provides responses to inquiries for images and/or access

Positions duty stations at Denali Park, you may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you
Positions duty stationed at Copper Center and Fairbanks, you will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you
You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 12 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes
Fee Collection duties apply to Denali Park Headquarters duty station. If selected for this position, you will be required to receive a higher-level background investigation for Fee Collection
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to the following: Preparing publications, exhibits, photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, and overlays for use in communicating information through visual means; using computer technology to prepare visually-oriented websites and other electronic media, to communicate information visually; directing, filming, editing, and/or producing videos for public audiences to convey intended messages; producing visual products for print and/or web pages using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere). You must include hours worked per week in your resume
EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full year (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or the equivalent) of graduate level course work with major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. You must include a copy of your transcripts
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include a copy of your transcripts and the hours worked per week in your resume
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the number of hours worked per week, full-time or part-time. If you indicate part-time, you MUST indicate the number of hours worked per week so that your qualifying experience can be prorated for credit
Volunteer experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience
