Accounting Process Lead

The Accounting Process Lead will manage the design and deployment of SAP solutions for accounting and finance, focusing on standard accounting functions and best practices.
Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of Valvoline Global Accounting and Finance principles and processes
Manage activities of a process area and review the work of team member/s handling moderately to highly complex tasks
Determine the most effective way to capture and translate business needs into processes with an eye on fit-to-standard processes and maintaining a clean S4 core
Manage and facilitate important project engagement teams regarding the design and implementation of SAP Finance & Controlling functionality
Suggest improvements to existing business processes in SAP S/4HANA and determine general accounting best practices
Provide consulting advice to business customers on Financial and Management Accounting processes in SAP
Manage teams or projects as well as dive into the content while still being coached to progress on your career path
Become a SAP Superuser and be recognized as the Accounting expert for the project. Coach, provide training, and ensure knowledge transfer to key users
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of SAP Financial and Controlling experience in one or several of the below domains: Finance (FI): GL, New GL, AP, AR, AA; Controlling (CO): Cost & Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), Project Systems (PS): Financial Project Management; Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC): Planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Experience with SAP required
Advanced understanding and experience with Financial and Management Accounting processes
Excellent communication skills to establish credibility with leadership and to build problem-solving partnerships with internal customers
Ability to work independently, as well as in project teams, and take ownership and responsibility
Ability to influence, direct, and/or coach others who do not directly report to the role
Strong time management skills, adaptability, and strong customer-facing experience
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; the ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical
Project experience: leading cross-functional teams, experience with documentation, participation in unit testing, integration testing, and cutover activities related to SAP Finance
Must be available to be in-person at our Lexington, KY office three days a week
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred
SAP certification is a plus
Experience with SAP Central Finance would be a plus
