Undergraduate Designer and 3D Printer Modeler (Associate in Engineering - Levels I - IV)
Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration. The Undergraduate Designer and 3D Printer Modeler will support research, perform document reviews, create facility change requests, and provide CAD support while gaining hands-on experience in ongoing projects.

Support research on systems
Perform document reviews and updates
Create Facility Change Requests to implement desired changes to various systems
Day-to-Day activities will center mostly on data collection. Type of data to be gathered will depend on the project/assignment
Provide Computer Aided Design (CAD) support to a variety of projects using SolidWorks and/or Creo 2D and 3D modeling software
During the execution of technical designs and the development of drawings the student will be coordinating with engineers and scientists executing stockpile experimental projects
Opportunities will be provided to model and build 3D printed parts for experiments using a Stratasys J850 3D printer
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship is required for all positions
Completion of first year Bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), as of the date application is submitted
or Completion of first year in a Calculus-based STEM bachelor's degree in engineering, as of the date application is submitted
Must be actively enrolled in school, as of the date application is submitted
Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, as of the date application is submitted
Must be located in the contiguous United States
Must have: Planning/organizing skills and initiative
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of engineering equipment, software, systems, calculations, and applications of engineering methods
Have self-motivating attitude and is open to exploring all areas of engineering
Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience with 3D printing
Experience with Computer Aided Design
Strong computer skills are desired, including MS Office and computer programming
A pre-placement drug screen is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing
Must have a valid driver's license
Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'
