Supervisory Immigration Services Officer (Deputy District Director)

Responsibilities
Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within District 13 and are assigned based on the need of the agency
Provide guidance and recommendations to strengthen and improve the delivery of the successful standardization and implementation of major field office programs, projects, and initiatives
Develop and deploy field office programs that support the day-to-day operations of the field office and the administration of immigration benefits
Responsible for hearing and resolving informal complaints and grievances
Directs staff who perform professional, technical, and administrative work
Identify significant customer service issues and priorities for the field office
Design, develop, and direct programs and projects which require in-depth analysis, problem solving, conceptualizing, planning, and management to support the strategic direction of the Field Operations Directorate
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National to apply for this position
Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure
You must pass a drug screening
You must submit resume and supporting documentation
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government
Independently planning, designing and directing programs, major projects, and initiatives in support of an organization's strategic direction
Designs analyses, evaluates alternatives, and develops new or alternative strategies to improve customer service issues and priorities
Directing staff who perform professional, technical, and administrative work whose primary mission is the administration of immigration benefits and services
Communicating and liaising with leadership and managers at all levels concerning the operations and administrative programs of a field office
Making decisions related to informal complaints, grievances, and disciplinary actions
Selected candidates are required to attend and successfully complete the USCIS Immigration Service Officer Basic (ISO BASIC) Training Program located with the USCIS Academy Training Center in Charleston, SC
