Cost Accounting Supervisor

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, a family-owned leader in refrigerated semi-trailers, is seeking a Cost Accounting Supervisor. The role involves reviewing inventory data, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory and COGS, and collaborating with inventory control teams while utilizing Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth cost analysis across various aspects of the organization's operations, including production and inventory
Design, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate recording and reporting of costs within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Collaborate with inventory control teams to monitor inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, and analyze inventory-related costs
Review and analyze inventory transactions within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Monthly reconciliations between the inventory reports and the trial balance within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Run the inventory close process within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations after reviewing and making any adjustments to incorrect cost valuations
Handling of intercompany transfer orders and cost valuations
Prepare quarter-end journal entries for FIFO and LIFO
Prepare month-end journal entries for GAAP
Gross Margin Analysis
Oversee all Free Text Billing for all legal entities within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Work with the manufacturing facilities on any discrepancies related to physical or financial inventory transactions within Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Review all year-end inventory counts and valuations
Work with auditors on all inventory requests and questions

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
5+ years of inventory accounting or cost accounting experience in manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience with inventory management, cost management, and cost accounting modules in Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations
Proficient in Excel, Access, BI-reporting, and use of business intelligence tools
Demonstrate quantitative and analytical skills for problem solving
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional initiatives
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficient with external auditors
Time management and ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines
Confidentiality and trustworthiness
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
