Strategic Projects Lead - Finance, San Francisco

Responsibilities

Define the Financial Taxonomy: Design and maintain the canonical taxonomy for financial concepts, workflows, and document types (models, memos, CIMs, TAM analysis, NDAs, etc.) to guide model training and evaluation
Domain Leadership: Serve as the finance subject matter authority, ensuring that all model training datasets align with best practices across investment banking, private investing (PE, growth, VC)
Data Frameworks & Standards: Define data collection, labeling, and evaluation standards to ensure consistency, interpretability, and financial rigor in all training materials
Financial Modeling & Valuation Oversight: Set quality benchmarks and review frameworks for model accuracy across DCFs, LBOs, comparables, merger models, and returns analyses
Investment & Market Analysis: Develop structured templates and data patterns for qualitative analyses and investment memos
Structuring Deal Processes: Encode and standardize processes for CIM evaluation, NDA/legal document understanding, and deal sourcing workflows for AI use
Practice Leadership: Build and lead a team of financial experts to continuously refine and expand the finance knowledge base used for model training
Quality Assurance: Establish metrics and review loops to evaluate model outputs and ensure fidelity to financial logic and standards

Required

Bachelors/ Masters degree or PhD in Finance
Strong domain knowledge of finance workflows and 3-5 years of experience in one of the following domains - Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Trading
Excellent stakeholder management skills, strong verbal & written communication (English)
Strong analytical and organisational skills; comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
Experience with vendor/outsourced delivery models, including setting up SLAs, KPIs, quality metrics
Comfortable with basic budgeting and resource planning
