Plant Maintenance Engineer Helper

The Plant Maintenance Engineer Helper supports the daily operation and maintenance of Capitol Complex building systems by assisting with the cleaning, inspection, and repair of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.

Responsibilities

Assist with the cleaning, inspection, and repair of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, lighting, and plumbing fixtures
Ensure safe, clean, and efficient facilities for state agencies, the legislature, and the public by performing preventative maintenance and supporting energy conservation

Required

Must possess a 2C Engineer's license or higher
Applicant must have successfully completed a formal HVAC/Maintenance Engineer training program through an accredited a vocational or technical college
Valid Class D Driver's License with acceptable driving record
Vocational-Technical College program must include training on HVAC Trade Tools, Refrigeration, Electrical Circuits, Electric Motors, Schematic Drawings, HVAC & Refrigeration Controls, Building Automation System, Boiler Operation, and Plumbing Repair, Read and Interpret Building Plan and Drawings

Preferred

Broad plant maintenance experience involving repair of heating and ventilating equipment as a major focus
Experience with minor repair to heating and ventilating equipment or minor electrical repairs
Coursework in steam engineering maintenance or repair (e.g., welding, plumbing, electricity, steam engineering, boiler operation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and steamfitting)
