Responsibilities
Performs high complexity testing on blood, urine, feces, cerebrospinal fluid, peritoneal fluid, synovial fluid, pleural fluid, and other body fluids
Evaluates results of testing and quality controls, calibrations, calibration verification/linearity/reportable range
Performs venipunctures and capillary blood collections using proper patient identification, correct tubes, handling, and labelling
Varied work schedule includes day and night schedules, weekends, and holidays plus on call at least two times per month
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
ASCP, NCA, AMT, MT (AMT) MT (HEW) or CLS certification or equivalent required
Willingness and ability to fill shifts to meet 24-hour staffing needs, including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays plus taking call at least 2 times per month
Must be able to respond to call within 20 minutes or less during all weather conditions
