They are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to architect and scale backend systems, develop APIs, manage data pipelines, and support AI model training and deployment.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain serverless backends using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
Design and optimize data storage and synchronization between local edge databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL) and cloud services
Architect and manage data pipelines that support robot telemetry, video streams, and analytics workflows
Develop and scale APIs and message brokers for real-time communication (MQTT, WebRTC) between devices and cloud systems
Support model training pipelines and data processing for AI/ML systems (including future large-scale storage like HDFS or S3-based data lakes)
Implement infrastructure-as-code (CDK or Terraform) to manage backend services consistently across ventures
Collaborate with robotics, frontend, and data science teams to deliver end-to-end functionality—from sensor data to dashboard
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development
Strong command of Python or TypeScript/Node.js
Hands-on experience with AWS services, especially Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Cognito, and CloudWatch
Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLite) and NoSQL systems (DynamoDB)
Understanding of data synchronization, schema design, and query optimization across heterogeneous systems
Familiarity with IoT or edge computing (MQTT, device-to-cloud data handling)
Comfortable with event-driven architectures and asynchronous workflows
Preferred
Experience with distributed or large-scale data systems (e.g., HDFS, data lakes, S3-based analytics)
Knowledge of AWS Greengrass or other edge-deployment frameworks
Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, robotics middleware, or telemetry pipelines
Exposure to Shopify, webhooks, or external API integrations
Experience supporting AI/ML workflows, such as preprocessing, model training, or serving
Interest in observability and system reliability (X-Ray, CloudWatch Logs, metrics aggregation)
