Deviceflow is a remote-first company focused on improving patient outcomes by ensuring timely delivery of medical devices. They are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build backend software, manage projects, and contribute to integrations and dev-ops responsibilities.

Building backend software

Owning projects and outcomes

Part of this role will involve building integrations for our customers. As we grow, you will have the opportunity to hire a full-time engineer who will take over this responsibility

Part of this role will involve basic dev-ops responsibilities shared with the CTO and VP of Engineering

In a pinch, you’ll be asked to ship front-end changes

Required

5 Years of relevant experience

Previous full-stack, backend or platform experience in user facing distributed applications on the public facing internet

Typescript

AWS (or similar public cloud experience)

Node.js (or similar such as Deno)

Building RESTful APIs (or GraphQL)

Sveltekit (or similar such as Next.js, Astro, Gatsby, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Ruby on Rails)

Infrastructure as Code (basic experience with Terraform)

PostgreSQL (or similar RDBMS)

Reviewing code of peers

Experience working on critical software and platforms where usability and reliability are basic requirements

Understanding of how compliance and/or business requirements affect all aspects of delivering software (HIPAA experience not required but a plus)

Understanding the power and pitfalls of Distributed Software

Experience using LLMs and coding agents (such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex)
