TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (OFFICER COURSES)
USAJOBS is seeking a Training Instructor for officer courses at Sheppard AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Technical Training Instructor performing all technical training instructor classroom-related activities, supporting officer course curriculum development, modification, and/or revision efforts in initial skills, advanced, and/or supplemental Technical Training courses.

Responsibilities
Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced technical/administrative levels of Aircraft Maintenance officer instruction courses
Researches, develops, revises and recommends updates to Aircraft Maintenance officer course materials in accordance with established learning objectives
Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates a comprehensive and effective training program
Maintains professional and technical proficiency and accomplishes difficult, but well precedented special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities

Must complete initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s)
Knowledge of and experience working in the Aircraft Maintenance officer career field and/or aircraft maintenance enlisted career fields as a SNCO is desired
Position may require travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY
May be required to work on special projects as directed by the supervisor
This position has been identified as Technical Training Essential
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex courses associated with teaching advanced technical systems or subject-matter areas
Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, training resources, and test and measurement
Knowledge of service-based occupations and the associated training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel
Knowledge of standard analytical and evaluative techniques to analyze training requirements, plan for and develop training materials, evaluate training effectiveness, and solve problems relating to training issues
Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance officer career field at a practical level to include general knowledge of fixed wing and/or rotary aircraft, aircraft maintenance policies and procedures, support equipment, troubleshooting procedures, safety, security, and maintenance policy
Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M, if related, with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level
Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest
Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives
Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions
