Responsibilities

Design active fire protection systems, including automatic sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, and fire alarm/mass notification systems
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, narratives, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents using AECOM templates and standards
Develop hydraulic calculations in accordance with NFPA standards, UFC 3-600-01, and project-specific criteria
Support the design of special hazard systems (e.g., clean agent, water mist, foam, explosion control) as applicable
Conduct code reviews in accordance with the IBC, IFC, NFPA (13, 14, 20, 72, 2001, etc.), and UFC standards
Participate in multi-discipline coordination meetings and collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams
Review contractor submittals and RFIs, and provide construction-phase support, including field inspections and acceptance testing observation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Familiarity with NFPA standards and the International Building and Fire Codes
U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the work
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
Experience designing sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems
