Contract Accountant
LHH is assisting with a search for an Interim Accountant for a client in Kansas City, MO. In this role, you will be responsible for providing interim support during the busy season, managing property budgets, financial reconciliations, and onboarding new properties into systems.
Responsibilities
Enter and maintain property budgets in Yardi or MRI
Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Manage and reconcile CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges and expenses
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records
Onboard new properties into Yardi or MRI, ensuring all data is correctly set up
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations
Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
Work closely with property managers to resolve accounting issues
Communicate with tenants regarding billing and reconciliations
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2-3 years of property or real estate accounting experience
Proficiency in Yardi or MRI property management software
Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations and commercial real estate accounting practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
