Revenue Accountant

They are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Revenue Accountant to support all aspects of accounting and finance operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and providing insights into revenue performance.

Responsibilities
Support the monthly and quarterly close process by preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting analyses, with a primary focus on revenue, cost of sales, gross margin, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Analyze period-over-period fluctuations, identify key business drivers, and deliver clear, insightful commentary
Act as a liaison between Accounting, FP&A, Business Intelligence, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and accuracy across functions
Contribute to cross-functional projects involving revenue recognition, margin analysis, and other revenue-related initiatives
Evaluate current accounting and reporting processes to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and scalability including the use of AI and machine learning tools to reduce manual work and enhance data accuracy
Partner with the finance team to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes are effective and well-documented
Support quarterly and annual audits, providing timely responses and detailed documentation to external auditors
Participate in special projects and process improvements as needed
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in accounting required
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles
Advanced Excel proficiency and ability to work with large data sets
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams
Results-driven with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
Must be able to work out of our NYC office on a hybrid schedule
Candidates must be authorized to work in United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future
Preferred
CPA preferred
Public accounting experience (Big Four or comparable firm) and/or public company experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with SQL, PowerPivot, Power BI are a plus
