Systems / Network Administrator II
University of Utah is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join their College of Science IT Team. This role involves supporting computer systems, software, and networking environments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and integrity of systems and data.

Responsibilities
Identify, troubleshoot, resolve and report systems issues
Respond to user requests for system support and upgrades
Manage security solutions: EDR, antivirus, and data loss prevention systems
Perform scheduled software and systems updates
Manage and monitor backup systems
Provide user support for networking, applications, scientific equipment, printers and other peripherals
Provide analysis, design, planning and implementation for a variety of information technology tools and systems
Participate in projects to improve user and systems efficiencies
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a wide variety of tasks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience
Master's degree (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience
Experience in supporting computer systems and network environments
Ability to install, configure, and support networks (e.g., LAN, WAN)
Experience maintaining firewalls, switch stacks, switches, and routers
Ability to ensure availability and optimal performance of the network
Experience in application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application, hardware, and communication problems
Experience in scheduling upgrades and collaborating on network/system optimization
Ability to maintain operating efficiency and stability while ensuring security and integrity of systems and data
Experience responding to outages and other critical issues
Ability to coordinate with department leadership on software, hardware, or operating system updates
Experience developing and enhancing processes and technical documentation
Ability to create back-up procedures, test plans, and reports
Experience managing security solutions: EDR, antivirus, and data loss prevention systems
Ability to provide user support for networking, applications, scientific equipment, printers, and other peripherals
