Responsibilities

Timely review and processing of premium audits and disputes across all lines of business and states, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of all technical aspects of the audit
Process complex audits requiring special attention including multi-state, with an understanding of California rules and regulations
Initiate and research audit-related issues, including procedure and classification discrepancies; prepare written documentation of findings, and present the results to the department
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of assigned audits and manage daily workflow efficiently
Review mail audits and make any necessary phone calls to verify information submitted to process final audit billing
Evaluate vendor worksheets for accuracy, and quality, and communicate with vendors when necessary
Process audit billings in Genesys system
Meet departmental standards for timeliness and quality
Review and research accounting discrepancies as needed
Respond to inquiries from agents, customers, and underwriters with professionalism and accuracy
Interpret and apply the various classification and procedural manuals from NCCI, PAAS, ISO, WCIRB
Stay informed on relevant state and federal laws impacting the Premium Audit
Verify claims coding accuracy
Complete all necessary reports and administrative tasks within required deadlines

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance premium auditing, preferably in a multi-state environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Genesys
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information clearly to customers, clients, and coworkers
Ability to calculate premium exposures and apply basic algebra concepts
Ability to manage complex accounts and disputes to a manageable resolution
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Preferred

Knowledge of California rules and regulations preferred
Familiarity with electronic manuals such as PAAS and internet-based resources
