Supervisor, Substation Design Engineer
Groe Advisors LLC is seeking a Supervisor, Substation Design Engineer to oversee substation design engineering projects. The role involves supervising personnel, performing quality control reviews, and acting as a liaison between the firm and clients while ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities
Experience supervising personnel
Experience performing QC reviews of substation designs
Experience with staff training and mentorship
Experience with serving as firm-client liaison in a support and lead engineering role
Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid system and substation engineering design practices
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI) and their application
Experience researching design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations
Ability to support critical deadlines in potentially high pressure situations
Team player who will work in a team environment comprised of a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
High level of computer competency
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Bachelors and 7+ years of experience in utility substation design engineering
Masters and 5+ years of experience in utility substation design engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience supervising personnel
Experience performing QC reviews of substation designs
Experience with staff training and mentorship
Experience with serving as firm-client liaison in a support and lead engineering role
Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid system and substation engineering design practices
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI) and their application
