Responsibilities

Design and Layout: Develop plumbing system designs including domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and specialty systems (medical gas, compressed air, etc.)
Technical Documentation: Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Revit
Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, state, and national codes (IPC, NFPA, LEED standards)
Coordination: Work closely with architects, structural, and mechanical engineers to integrate plumbing systems into overall building design
Construction Support: Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits for quality assurance
Analysis: Conduct hydraulic calculations, sizing of piping systems, and equipment selection
Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design practices and energy-efficient solutions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
10-15 years of plumbing design experience in building projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with BIM workflows
Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and sustainable design principles
PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
US Citizenship required
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
