Responsibilities
Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students in a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to their maturity and interests
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects
Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement
Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives
Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide feedback as required
Assess learning difficulties and seek assistance from district specialists as needed
Strive to improve professionally through ongoing learning and reflection
Assist administration in implementing school policies and maintaining a fair, orderly classroom
Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, funds, and facilities
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy
Organize class materials and plans to ensure minimal disruption during teacher absences
Utilize community resources when available
Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when reasonably requested
Perform other related duties as assigned
