Social media producer, US audio and video podcast
The Guardian is a global news organization that delivers fearless, independent journalism. They are seeking an experienced, creative, and organized social media producer to develop and execute a strategy to promote their new video and audio podcast and grow their audience.

Responsibilities
Working with podcast producers to identify key moments in interviews to feature in daily social media packages to promote the podcast
Work with producers and executive producers to generate ideas for additional material to engage audiences on social platforms, YouTube Shorts, etc
Work with the social team to create and conceptualize social video approaches that succeed on specific social platforms and align with broader Guardian US strategy and voice
Collaborate with producers to write engaging copy that appears on social media and video platforms
Work closely with senior and executive producers to guarantee the highest levels of creativity, editorial and legal standards
Play an active part in the Guardian’s podcast team and look for opportunities to showcase our journalism and values
Qualification
Required
Experience of using video editing software, ideally Adobe Premiere
Experience of shooting video in and outside of studio settings
Understanding of community engagement across social channels
Proven ability to tailor creative approaches to different platforms — from scripting and captioning to thumbnail design and audience tone
Understanding of audience metrics on YouTube and social channels
Understanding of YouTube channel management
Experience working with a fast moving newsroom
An understanding that producing a near daily show that's reactive to the news will require occasional early morning or late night interviews and prep work
Understand the tone, purpose and audience of the Guardian
Understand and keep up to date with the latest developments in audio and video
Ability to bring a diverse perspective to the role
Strong knowledge of global news and politics
A clear understanding of the Guardian's voice and positioning within the US media landscape
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable producing work on tight deadline
Commitment to high journalistic standards for factual accuracy
Able to manage multiple projects at a time
Ability to meet high standards, but work with kindness and respect while doing so
