Responsibilities

Develop plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications for mechanical systems
Conduct mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, and ensure designs meet energy and sustainable design targets
Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
Develop control strategies, calculations, system concepts, layouts, and designs
Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers and staff members, fostering their professional growth

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program
11 - 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the consulting industry
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Proficient knowledge of a variety of mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing
Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software
Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines
Experience in sustainable design practices
Excellent interdisciplinary coordination skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
US Citizenship required
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
