Responsibilities
Planning and managing activities of the Planning Division of Palm Tran
Coordinating the development of mid- and long-range transportation plans
Managing Federal and state grant development and applications
Overseeing capital improvements and associated budgets
Exercising independent judgment and technical expertise in public transportation improvements
Supervising a staff of professional subordinates
Leading the planning and design of Palm Tran’s transit service within Palm Beach County
Providing direction regarding strategic operations and planning implementation related to the Transit Development Plan (TDP)
Conducting corridor and facility studies, economic assessments, and policy recommendations
Maintaining contact with service board members, citizens, and other planning agencies in Palm Beach County
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree; graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, transportation planning, or a closely related field
five (5) years of progressively responsible professional and administrative experience in transportation /transit planning
two (2) years of supervisory experience
any combination of related training and experience
Preferred
Master's degree in Planning or a closely related field
Project Management Professional (PMP)
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
Professional Transportation Planner (PTP)
experience in a public transit agency
