Electrical Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of excitation systems
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to both hardware and software components
Provide technical support and training to customers on operation, maintenance, and best practices
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop and implement effective technical solutions
Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and recommendations for internal and customer use
Ensure full compliance with Siemens Energy and customer safety standards at all times
Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in excitation and control systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
3–5 years of field service experience, preferably with excitation systems or power generation equipment
Proven experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of excitation systems (Siemens Energy or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of control systems, power plant operations, and use of diagnostic/test tools
Ability to work independently in the field with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Willingness to travel frequently (domestic and international). Valid driver's license required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
