Visual Comfort & Co. is a company specializing in lighting and home decor. They are seeking a Material Handler I to assist in receiving, picking, packing, and checking products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Receives product deliveries

Unload shipping containers

Scan & Stock product accurately, timely, and neatly in its primary location

Utilize handheld scanner

Ensure picking accuracy and quantity rate is maintained at established standard

Put away product from receiving department

Transfer Product from one location to another location

Use power equipment (power jack and Big Joe

Adhere to all safety, housekeeping guidelines as well as all work rules and policies

Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by manager

Support and exhibit the VCC values

Participate in twice daily ergo exercises

Use of computer to print labels and investigate discrepancies in JDE

Conduct basic inspection, labelling and wrapping of VCC products in conjunction with the quality assurance department

Performs other duties as assigned

Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems

Required

A minimum of 1 year of full-time related experience working in a manufacturing environment. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted

High school diploma or equivalent

This role demands attention to detail, and the team member must have the ability to notice small differences in item numbers

Ability to operate manual pallet jack

Ability to utilize a handheld scanner

Ability to work in multiple warehouse departments

Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relationships with both internal and external guests

Capacity to utilize effective time management skills and be able to work under the stress of multiple deadlines, requests from other departments, and interruptions with accuracy

Ability to follow directions and communicate in English verbally and in writing and to read and understand materials printed in English

Capacity to be self-motivated and achieve goals with minimal supervision or direction

Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
