Senior Software Engineer
Sony Pictures Imageworks is committed to respecting traditional lands and working with communities towards reconciliation. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their development team, focusing on the development and implementation of pre-production tools for animation projects.

Responsibilities
The engineer is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of pre-production tools under the guidance of Vice President Of Technology of Sony Pictures Animation
Qualification
Required
Advanced Python development
Ability to design simple tools to solve various workflow problems
Proven ability to deliver high quality software in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities across multiple toolsets and platforms
Advanced scripting and API integration skills of applications used in Animation Pre-Production and Production, such as Unreal, Shotgrid, Photoshop, or Maya
5+ years of experience in software development
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and creative teams
Proactive problem-solver with a focus on usability and scalability
Preferred
Cross platform development including OSX, Linux and Windows
Experience in developing web applications
Exposure to editorial and post-production workflows (Avid, Premiere, or Hiero)
Understanding of USD or asset management systems
An understanding of layout and previs process
