IT Field Technician
Crystal Flash is a company focused on maintaining and improving IT systems across driver fleets and bulk plant locations. The IT Field Technician role involves supporting and maintaining distributed IT systems, troubleshooting hardware and software, and ensuring reliable field operations.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and manage inventory of Toughbook’s/tablets and related peripherals used by drivers and bulk plant staff
Support and maintain the dispatch/delivery software environment on Toughbook’s to ensure reliable field operations
Maintain and troubleshoot Automated Tank Gauge (ATG) fuel monitoring systems, including associated reporting software
Install, configure, and maintain security cameras, gates, and door access systems across multiple sites
Act as hands-on support for remote site outages, including ISP circuit troubleshooting and network stack maintenance (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
Assist the IT helpdesk team with end-user support as needed
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately once every 6 weeks) for field or after-hours support needs
Develop and maintain training materials for end users; conduct ad-hoc and regularly planned training related to the above technology systems
Qualification
Required
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with a focus on diagnosing complex field issues
Self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement across hardware, systems, and procedures
Ability to design or refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance, monitoring, training and inventory tracking
Strong organizational skills for managing multiple remote systems and hardware assets
Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with internal IT teams, operations staff, and vendors
2 – 5 years of experience in IT bench support, helpdesk, or similar technical support role
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, DHCP, IP addressing)
Experience with Windows-based hardware and software troubleshooting
Willingness to frequently travel between sites as needed
No BACs, DUIs, DWIs or license suspensions for moving violations in the past 3 years
Valid Michigan driver's license required
Preferred
Exposure to system administration (Active Directory, group policies, remote management tools) strongly preferred
Experience with industrial operating technology systems such as Veeder-Root or similar monitoring/reporting hardware preferred
Familiarity with video surveillance and access control systems is preferred
Technical certifications considered but not required
