Sr Mechanical Engineer - Verification Design

Responsibilities

Mechanical design from concept to model / drawing completion for moderate to high complexity required
Ability to work and support projects with minimal supervision
Manage small projects with the design, component selection, obtaining quotes, make versus buy decisions for fabrication and assembly, tracking and maintaining schedule adhering to budget, and presenting status at meetings
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair deployed automation solutions
Specification of robotics PLC's, sensors, thermal management design and temperature monitoring
Ability to run the software and teach robotics positions and vision routines

Required

3-5 years of experience with the design process as outlined above
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and machined parts design, design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) practices, and utilization of hand tools
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
Proficiency with 3D modelling using Creo (or equivalent) and ACAD
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a basic knowledge and understanding of GD&T
Capable of working autonomously with limited oversight in a self-motivated manner
Ability to succeed in a teaming environment with timely problem resolution utilizing a positive, proactive attitude and a strong customer focus
Ability to obtain secret clearance
Requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Understanding of the product build process
Ability to work with external suppliers
Ability to adapt to changing product requirements
Effective communication skills
Experience with automation, including motion control, robotics, and sensor specification
