Axiom Space is collaborating with Astrolab, Inc. to develop a Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) for future Artemis missions. The role requires a resilient, high-energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) Avionics Engineer to provide technical oversight and manage avionics architecture in support of NASA’s LTV Services contract.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with subsystem teams who are developing Axiom’s LTVS design
Providing technical oversight of program-wide avionics functions and design as it evolves from development to production and testing
Coordinating and planning avionics tasks to meet program development plan and schedule
Managing the overall avionics architecture and drive sound technical decision making
Participating in all aspects of avionics development from design to certification and flight
Managing and communicating project progress, status, and issues to stakeholders and leadership
Building and testing prototype and spaceflight hardware
Preparing documentation for design reviews, manufacturing, assembly, and testing
Performing additional job duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in STEM from an accredited institution
10-15 years of experience in electrical or computer engineering
Familiarity with implementation of NASA Standards, Federal Standards, and/or DOD Standards
Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges
Proven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines
