Intern, R&D Graduate Year Round - III-V Microelectronics, Onsite

Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation. They are seeking a motivated R&D Graduate intern to join their compound semiconductor microelectronics research and development team, where the intern will work on III-V compound semiconductor research and development using molecular beam epitaxy and microfabrication processes.

Responsibilities

Develop epitaxial processes
Incorporate novel epitaxy into high performance devices
Evaluate device characteristics to improve epitaxy
Material characterization
Interpret and use material and device test data to improve growth processes and device epitaxial design

Required

Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred

Desired Majors: Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
Interest in microelectronics growth, fabrication, design, and engineering principles
Experience with molecular beam epitaxy
Interest in supporting national security and US government missions
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to interact well in a team environment
