Executive Director, Health Analytics & Research Support
UTHealth Houston is seeking an Executive Director for Health Analytics & Research Support to provide strategic and operational leadership for collaborative initiatives. Responsibilities
Develops and maintains robust service delivery processes, including project intake, requirements gathering, approvals, service-level agreements (SLAs), and tracking of audits and compliance
Engages executive leadership and stakeholders across UTHealth Houston and partner affiliates to align services with shared priorities, while ensuring project execution strategies support organizational goals and uphold the highest standards of accountability and service excellence
Designs, implements, and maintains the technical strategy, processes, and operational integrity of the department's technological services
Provides executive leadership in planning and implementing strategies to meet technical enterprise-wide analytics, research support, and data-driven decision-making
Oversees marketing and communication efforts for departmental services, including portals, directories, and web presence
Recruits, develops, and leads a multifaceted, high-performing team of specialists, including data architects, engineers, scientists, programmers, and informaticists to serve the necessary function of the collaboration
Develops and manages budgetary models that support the needs of the department and its service partners, aligning departmental resources with institutional priorities
Collaborates with internal and external partners to advance multi-institutional research efforts, ensuring compliance with data sharing agreements and regulatory standards
Establishes governance structures and data quality standards to ensure reliable, secure, and ethical use of clinical, operational, and research data
Represents the institution in professional forums, collaborations, and strategic partnerships related to health analytics, research innovation, and data governance
Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning
Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business Administration, Management, Information Systems or a related field required
7 years of Executive-level experience in healthcare program or institutional management required
Deep expertise in healthcare IT strategy, EMR/EHR implementation, and interoperability standards (e.g., Cerner/Oracle Health, HL7, FHIR, REST/SOAP APIs)
Proven ability to design and deliver large-scale data and AI solutions using cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, MS SQL Server) and advanced programming/data processing tools (Python, Java, C/C++, SQL, GitHub, PowerBI)
Demonstrated leadership in AI, machine learning, and generative AI applications for healthcare analytics and service delivery
Extensive experience in solution architecture, requirements analysis, and large-scale program implementation across complex healthcare and academic environments
Skilled in structured problem solving, financial and cost modeling, and program governance to align technology investment with organizational priorities
Strong background in stakeholder engagement and executive communication, including translating complex technical concepts for clinical and administrative leaders
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094
