, Administrative Assistant – Victim Witness Division
The Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City is dedicated to providing support within the Victim Witness Division. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for preparing correspondence, answering phone calls, maintaining presence in the Victim Witness room, and assisting with transportation arrangements for court appearances.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Prepare correspondence to victims, witnesses and police officers to provide notification of upcoming court events
Answer incoming phone calls in response to office correspondence in order to obtain the most up to date information for victims and witnesses
Screen phone calls to determine if victim or witness needs to speak with Victim Witness Coordinator
Maintain a presence in Victim Witness room in order to check in victims and witness, validate parking, answer any questions and communicate with Victim Witness coordinators
Arrange transportation for court appearances
Maintain accurate notes in case management system
Process and sort any returned mail to the Victim Witness Coordinators
Check any upcoming cases for Crime Victim Notification forms to determine if Victim Witness Coordinators should notify Victims of hearings
Any other duties that fall within the Victim Witness Division
Qualification
Required
Applicants must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a high-volume environment
Ability to interact professionally with attorneys, victims, and witnesses
Ability to multitask
Exceptional organizational skills
Possess a positive attitude
Ability to work independently
Demonstrate enthusiasm to learn new ideas and concepts
Selected candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing
Selected candidates will be subject to a criminal background check before starting employment
