Responsibilities
Accurately position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety while adhering to radiation protection protocols
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT scanners, and ultrasound machines, to obtain high-quality images
Assist physicians during interventional procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies, and by maintaining a sterile environment
Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a physician, following established protocols
Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper archiving in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
Monitor patients during procedures, observing for any complications or unusual events, and report findings to the physician
Qualification
Required
Current ARRT required
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) required
Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Radiology Tech in the state of employment required
Two (2) years of recent experience required
State Fluoroscopy license required where applicable
Current, valid, and active driver's license required
Ability to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation
Recent acute care experience for acute care and LTAC placements
Current BLS certification from a Vibra Travles-approved vendor required, AHA preferred and required by some clients
ACLS may be required by some clients
Minimum of 1 year experience scrubbing for cardiac cath procedures
Patient Preparation and Positioning: Accurately position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety while adhering to radiation protection protocols
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT scanners, and ultrasound machines, to obtain high-quality images
Assistance During Procedures: Assist physicians during interventional procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies, and by maintaining a sterile environment
Contrast Media Administration: Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a physician, following established protocols
Image Evaluation and Archiving: Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper archiving in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients during procedures, observing for any complications or unusual events, and report findings to the physician
Preferred
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-stress, emergent situations
Familiarity with common cath lab and IR imaging systems
Detail-oriented and organized
