Intern, R&D Graduate Summer - TITANS - Southwest Analysis Laboratories for Semiconductor Advancement (SALSA), Onsite
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation. They are seeking graduate student interns to join their SALSA TITANS Cybersecurity team to work on real-world cybersecurity hardware problems and contribute to national security. Interns will utilize their skills in computer science, engineering, and data analytics to tackle challenges in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities
Manual and automated failure analysis and vulnerability assessment
Intrusion prevention/detection and response, penetration testing, and forensics
Information protection, and resiliency

Debugging hardware prototypes
Printed Circuit Board Layout
Design analysis
Prototype assembly
Focused Ion Beam (FIB) tools
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
Laser Scanning Microscopy (LSM) tools
K Layout
Altium
Cadence Tool Chain
Identifying and fixing integrated circuit issues (failure analysis)
Design either at the integrated circuit or circuit board level, including tools such as FPGA/microcontroller/embedded systems development
Electronic measurement equipment experience including oscilloscope, power supplies, waveform generators, etc
RF or electromagnetics expertise
Qualification
Required
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred
GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
Pursuing a graduate degree in an engineering or science related field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other relevant STEM Disciplines
