Responsibilities

Design, build, instrument, and automate testing equipment for electrical, thermal, and mechanical testing
Work together with Design Engineers, Reliability scientists, Material scientists, Quality, and Service to identify failure modes and generate design validation and reliability test plans
Perform component-level, system-level, and vehicle-level validation and reliability testing, simulating realistic and accelerated dynamic and environmental conditions
Collaborate with test technicians as peers to achieve test objectives
Investigate Power Electronics assembly and subassembly failures to drive product development and test improvement
Identify and execute experiments targeting new technologies or critical failures
Interface and simulate complex vehicular systems to validate firmware/hardware interactions
Create novel ways to apply skills learned in the test lab to benefit vehicle products

Required

0-5 years of relevant experience
Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Basic working knowledge of Analog, Digital, and Power Electronics Circuits
Working experience with electrical test equipment (such as multimeters, DAQs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generator) and hand tools and power tools
Basic understanding of Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Fluids, Heat Transfer, Measurement and Instrumentation, and Linear Circuits
Comfort with balancing competing priorities and timelines and aligning those prioritizations with cross-functional team
An appetite for technical problem solving

Preferred

General knowledge in Power Electronics, DCDC or DCAC Converters, High Voltage Circuits, Motor Drive/Control Circuit, Sensing circuits, and Microcontrollers
Familiar with an object-oriented coding language and scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
Experience in Python and data visualization
Comfort with EDA software of Altium, OrCAD, Cadence, Eagle or equivalent
Working knowledge of mechanical CAD software of SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent
Formal or informal experience with one or more of the following: Automotive components or systems, or vehicles in general, physical testing and analysis of electrical, thermal, or mechanical systems, any form of automation (manufacturing, robotics, testing, personal hobbies, etc.)
Experience creating and executing design validation plans and test methods to validate performance requirements
