The Load Planner will optimize shipments, manage customer orders, and ensure effective communication with third-party carriers.

Responsibilities

Load-building - Adding shipments to a load, rating a load, securing carrier coverage and appointment setting. Monitoring and resolving MCP email messages. Identify shipping opportunities for improved performance such as: truckload multi-stops, consolidated shipments, etc

Provide excellent Customer Service to assigned account(s)

Call Center and shared email box responsibility

Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking shipments, process over-sight, auditing, load exception investigation, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions

Recover customer loads

Complete daily logs and trackers. Provide detailed instruction for various customers and associates from other shifts by phone and e-mail

Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Required

Experience in freight movement and customer service

Proficiency in using Transportation Manager System

Ability to process customer orders and plan shipments

Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting operational issues

Excellent communication skills for responding to internal and external inquiries

Ability to provide visibility to management and customers regarding shipment tracking

Experience in load-building and securing carrier coverage

Ability to monitor and resolve email communications related to shipments

Experience in completing daily logs and trackers

Ability to provide detailed instructions to customers and associates
