Director, Indirect Procurement and Logistics
The Chemours Company is dedicated to redefining how the world thinks of chemistry and is seeking a Director of Indirect Procurement and Logistics to join their Procurement team. This role involves developing and executing strategies for optimizing indirect procurement activities and logistics operations while leading a high-performing team to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services and strong supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities
Develop and lead the company’s indirect procurement strategies and indirect categories such as IT, professional services, MRO, facilities, travel, Asset Management, Environmental and capital projects
Oversee the end-to-end logistics spend and across all modes of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and third-party logistics partners
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost savings, operational efficiency, and service quality
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and performance
Be the strategic thought partner that fosters strong cross-functional engagement and working partnerships to enable strategic planning and forecasting. Build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure business needs are met
Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Human Resources and EHS teams to ensure procurement and logistics activities comply with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
Utilize analytics and market intelligence to identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and risk mitigation
Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and reporting
Support Chemours’ sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives through responsible sourcing and logistics practices
Ensure category strategies are developed and dynamically updated
Be the conduit for procurement within the BU and ensure BU procurement needs are met
Drive procurement KPI's and meet targets. Create productivity value to BU and mitigate supply and pricing volatility risks. Monitor productivity and service delivery against targets
Communicate market insights and support BU Operations and supply chain key initiatives
Develop policies and direct personnel involved in buying or administrating back office
Translates business plans into purchasing operational plans
Identify and lead the team to create value and optimize Total Cost of Ownership
Develop category strategies and drive execution of designated categories, implement strategic sourcing methodology, communicate and align with stakeholders
Directs bid strategy and ensure awards have contract strategies with advantageous terms & conditions and SLA KPI's
Build supplier relationships and leverage their resources
Mitigate supply chain risks and monitor inventory. Identify risks to supply operations and work closely with Operations to more appropriately build inventory
Ensure stakeholder transparency with relevant communication tools to utilize such as dashboarding. Works closely with Finance to ensure treasury and controllership governance with bank leases/line of credit uses and asset management controls in place
Leads buying teams in implementing corporate initiatives. Implement procurement initiatives to ensure functional best practices in place and facilitate efficiency increases with digital roll out
Work closely with supply chain and operations stakeholders to align and facilitate indirect services and freight delivery targets as well as evolving forecasts of material movements to all BU's
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
15+ years of global progressive experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, with significant leadership experience
Minimum of 5 years of people management and high-performance teams
Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills
Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing projects and logistics operations
Experience developing, socializing, and executing Strategy with clear goals and priorities
High level of strategic category management experience
Proven ability to drive change and deliver results in a matrixed, global environment
Advanced analytical and digital skills, ease of use of sourcing tools and experience with procurement and logistics technology platforms (e.g., SAP, Ariba, TMS, WMS, and bidding platforms)
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated business and financial acumen
Commitment to ethical sourcing and safety standards
Preferred
Six-Sigma or equivalent proficiency
