DISTINGUISHED SCIENTIST/ENGINEER CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER SSTM

Responsibilities
You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and tasking across the NSWCDD departments and product lines to foster technological innovation
You will provide the vision of NSWCDD technology efforts and capabilities by leading the community of practice and providing leadership and guiding the future direction for technology investments
You will manage laboratory-directed science and technology programs
You will provide technical leadership and vision for the NSWC Dahlgren Division Naval Innovative Science and Engineering (NISE) command portfolio, Other Transactional Authority (OTA), contract vehicle, and strategic collaborations and partnerships
You will provide advice and recommendations to NSWCDD senior leadership
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret-SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Program Manager, proficiency level I the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies

Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications
TQ#1. Comprehensive knowledge of Navy surface ship systems, emerging technologies, and relevant scientific/engineering disciplines to identify, integrate, and transition promising advancements into existing programs of national significance
TQ#2. Experience in leading, coordinating, and executing technology studies, experimentation, and risk assessment across diverse stakeholders (Navy, DoD, industry, academia) to provide authoritative technical advice and guide S&T efforts
Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher engineering degree from an accredited college or university
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Preferred
An advanced degree of Master's or Ph.D. in one of the educational fields listed above is highly desirable
