CNC TECHNICIAN III - GR WHITE FINISH

Responsibilities

Performs adjustments related with machine settings, tools and times. Analyses part measurements to determine adjustments needed
Responsible for production and quality goals for specified area
Read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts. Reviews measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections. Understands how to measure parts with use of precision measurement equipment, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, sine plates, etc
Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues including general machine errors, tooling errors, out of tolerance programming errors
Leads implementation of technical updates including the effective communication of progress with other GLOCK sites, evaluation of effectiveness, etc
In depth understanding of machine utilization of his/her area of responsibility
Actively suggests improvement initiatives to MFG Leadership
Perform re-works on and off machine
Understands G & M code functions and can write and correct programming language without the use of CAD/CAM software
Proficient in fixturing and work holding principles
Ability to troubleshoot unproven programs and give precise feedback about problems discovered and corrected
Proficiently adjusts speeds and feeds for milling and turning operations
Ensures that the documentation is correct including quantities and other records including previous operations
Promptly performs booking operations and ensures reported quantities are correct
Uses hand tools such as files and hand reamers to de-bur parts while maintaining product conformity
Performs visual inspections to identify issues as early in the production process as possible
Trains operators, and CNC technicians on job duties as well as visual inspection details
Helps with workflow by identifying bottlenecks and promptly communicating status with MFG Leadership
Maintains a high level of safety and cleanliness in the manufacturing area
Sets the production plans based on priorities, output goals, and efficiencies of their respective lines
Communicates with shift supervisor and/or CNC technicians potential issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including equipment and product issues
Communicates with other CNC technicians and operators at shift change relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite production process
Supports Lean Manufacturing activities in his/her area of responsibility such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), 5S (order and cleanliness), Kan-Ban, etc

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Related experience and/or training, basic knowledge of CNC and metal machining processes or machines
Ability to perform adjustments related with machine settings, tools and times
Ability to analyze part measurements to determine adjustments needed

Ability to read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts
Ability to review measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections
