Responsibilities
Lead and grow a small team of mechanical engineers who design life-changing facilities
Work independently on various projects concurrently as assigned by a Project Manager
Oversee aspects of or the entire HVAC/Utilities design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design
Write scopes of work for mechanical designs (HVAC/Utilities) based on preliminary review and client meetings
Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new HVAC/Utilities systems
Analyze the operation of existing systems
Assess the requirements of a project, break it into tasks, and work with Project Managers to determine scope of work, budget and staffing
Regularly review mechanical progress and alert the PM to any changes in scope
Maintain quality in accordance with company production and design standards
Work with the Regional Director of Design and the HR team to recruit and retain talent and develop staffing plans to meet business plan
Oversee manpower planning to assure efficient assignment of resources on multiple, concurrent projects
Prepare estimates, review contractor application for payments, review construction budgets, and coordinate document completion
Regularly connect with clients to ensure satisfaction and build relationships
Qualification
Required
Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
10+ years of professional engineering experience in mechanical design including HVAC and utilities
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Preferred
Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences or Laboratory industry experience
