Responsibilities

Deter criminal activity and misconduct

Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons by calling police, fire departments and/or local emergency response teams

Makes periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons

Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports

Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications and use email

Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance

Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications and performing in a high-pressure environment

Required

Prior law enforcement experience, military and/or corrections experience

Two years of customer service experience

Two years of security experience

Military Experience

Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or something similar

Valid state licensing, if applicable

21 years of age and High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test

Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email

Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance

Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands

Familiarity with report writing

Excellent surveillance and observation skills

Possess above average written and verbal communication skills

Possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public
