Responsibilities
Lead transmission engineering efforts for early- to mid-stage utility-scale solar and storage projects across the WECC region
Provide technical guidance on high-voltage design, system planning, and interconnection requirements (230–500kV)
Partner with Land, Development, and Cost Engineering teams to evaluate transmission routes, constraints, system impacts, and cost implications
Conduct or oversee PLS-CADD modeling and analysis for transmission line design
Support the preparation, review, and execution of interconnection agreements
Coordinate with utilities, engineers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure design accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project strategy
Contribute to long-term transmission planning and help guide overall grid strategy for the business
Ensure engineering precision, quality, and accountability throughout the design process
Qualification
Required
Extensive background in Power Delivery, Transmission Line Design, or Substation Engineering
Strong experience working with high- and medium-voltage systems (230–500kV)
Proficiency in PLS-CADD (required)
Comfortable working in early-stage development environments, supporting design, transmission analysis, and interconnection execution
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
Utility or consulting experience strongly preferred (e.g., Black & Veatch, HDR, similar)
Experience in the WECC market highly desirable (MISO experience also beneficial)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred
