Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector
Newcomb & Boyd, a multi-discipline engineering firm, is seeking a Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector to perform quality verification inspections and documentation review for electrical and mechanical equipment commissioning. The role requires 100% travel and involves utilizing software management systems for project inspections and documentation.
Responsibilities
Quality verification inspections and documentation review of the commissioning process for all electrical and/or mechanical equipment during Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 steps of commissioning as identified in the project commissioning plan, specifications, submittals and applicable codes and standards of the project. Deliverables include: 1. L1 FAT/FWT Reports 2. L2 Torque Logs 3. L2 Megger Reports 4. L2 Equipment Receiving and BOL Documentation 5. L2 Field Installation Reports 6. L3 PMS and BMS Point to Point Verifications 7. L3 Energization and/or Functional Test Reports
Participate and utilize the software management system and the Project Share Site to post commissioning checklists, readiness evaluation reports, and other records as required by specification
Perform commissioning inspections, utilizing checklists or forms in the quality control software system. Inspections shall be performed at major milestones as requested by the PM. Inspections will include specifications and submittals projects; identification and documentation of all deficiencies related to applicable codes and standards
Assist in tracking and resolving open issues as needed
Review and understand our customers’ Energy Control Plan and the Electrical Contractors LOTO plan
Qualification
Required
Ability to travel at 100%
Reside in the Dallas, TX area
Knowledge of the applicable project documents relating to the electrical and/or mechanical systems required to be commissioned
Ability to commit to 100% travel or be local to the project site
Prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures
Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally
A desire to develop their knowledge and grow
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Certificate/Diploma from an accredited trade school
County and/or state electrical license
Prior experience working in an electrical construction or commissioning-based role
