Responsibilities

Direct tissue procurement effort for the Department
Develop processes, procedures and a collaborative research program in the field of 3D organoid biology
Expand collaborative efforts with the University of Arizona biomedical scientists and physician scientists in the development of organoids relevant to cancer, lung disease, and liver disease
Develop human precision cut lung and liver slice model systems
Perform tissue histology, staining, and quantification
Organize tissue bank collection of FPPE, fresh frozen, and organoid samples
Participate in both training of students and technicians
Participate as a productive member of the Department and the College through impactful scholarly work and good citizenship

Required

Hold a PhD in related field of study from an accredited institution
Have post-doctoral training and/or experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of a assistant professor
Demonstrate scholarly accomplishment in research

Preferred

Demonstrate experience in cancer, lung, or liver organoid development
Have current funding in the area of 3D organoid biology
Demonstrate experience in melanoma, pancreatic cancer, GI cancers or lung cancer
Show experience investigating fibrotic diseases and drug development approaches
Demonstrate experience studying fibroblast biology and/or cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs)
