Structural Design Engineer III - New Glenn
Blue Origin is a company focused on developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles for the benefit of Earth. The Structural Design Engineer III will support the development and operations of the New Glenn launch vehicle, ensuring the design, manufacturing, assembly, and integration of rocket stages meet performance and safety standards.

Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle
Ensure seamless component design, manufacturing, assembly and integration of the rocket stages to meet performance and safety standards
Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
6+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace structures, fluid systems or mechanical systems
Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Take ownership of work and operate under minimal direction

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training
Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
Preferred
Demonstrated experience with aerospace hardware design ownership
Experience in the design of thermally sized aerospace hardware
Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Methane in liquid and/or gaseous states
Experience with the design and routing of flexhoses and bellows hardware
Proven understanding of materials properties and treatments; preference for aerospace materials
Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems
Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC)
