Lead, Operations Project Engineer

Responsibilities

Manage interface between Operations Program Management, Design Engineering, and Operations to assess risk and provide solutions
Perform Manufacturing Readiness Assessments using the DoD Manufacturing Readiness level (MRL) framework
Analyzes product/program maturity and assigns manufacturing readiness levels using the DoD MRL threads as a guideline
Create Manufacturing transition plans
Provide input into new production contract proposals for Operations
Deliver professional written and verbal communication to both internal and external stakeholders including L3Harris customers
Leads, plans and conducts technical projects typically related to manufacturability, product performance, yields, and process capability
Develops technical specifications, interface control documents, manufacturing plans and procedures, analyzes configuration and processing solutions, and tests conformance to specifications
Recommends new or improved design solutions and processes; reviews literature, patents and current industry practices of relevance to assigned project
Follows processes in conformance with established policies and objectives
Participates in critical design reviews
Actively participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations and subsequent Root Cause, Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
Partners with other organizations to create and execute improved manufacturing plans which drive measurable improvements to the portion of the Company’s AOP that falls within this role’s span of control
Support a culture of Continuous Improvement, 'Right the First Time', Safety First, Audit Ready, and Policy & Security Compliant

Required

A Bachelor's degree & a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in ME, EE, IE, or equivalent. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience

Preferred

Experience with wireless communication or similar systems and related system architecture, hardware design, integration and qualification
Required experience in product development (preferably in military application environments)
Experience with engineering architecture and design concepts along with thorough understanding of the engineering practices and procedures required to develop, test and deploy systems
Direct experience in the following areas
Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual)
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines
Effective coordination of project(s) and efforts of technical support personnel
Ability to productively contribute work, ideas and collaboration as part of a team
