Test Engineer
Tesla is a leading company in sustainable energy solutions, and they are seeking a Test Engineer to validate hardware for thermal management components. The role involves driving hardware validation efforts, writing test software, and managing test processes to ensure product reliability and performance.

Responsibilities
Own and drive hardware validation efforts for thermal management components and subsystems such as compressors, A/C lines, heat exchangers, hoses, coolant pumps, HVAC blowers and electronic valves. Your job is to figure out how these products could fail and to collaborate with design partners to drive changes
Own and drive build and test of subsystem bucks comprised of the above components
Write and maintain test software to automate test execution, data collection and data analysis
Design and build custom test fixtures to make validation efficient, modular and repeatable
Manage tests from setup through execution and reporting, including test planning, development, execution, inspections, root cause analysis, and data processing
Ensure test findings are well-documented and quickly communicated to external teams, root cause test failures and work with design partners, failure analysis lab, reliability team and suppliers to arrive at a corrective action
Develop and maintain validation schedules, coordinate test resources, and communicate status/blockers to program managers
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
Coding experience for test automation and data post-processing – Python and/or C
A background in Thermodynamics with an understanding of refrigeration and coolant systems
Working principals of common thermal components - operation, testing and characterization
Experience using standard lab and test equipment like power supplies, DAQs, pressure transducers, flow meters, temperature sensors
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
