$8.50/hr - $8.50/hrDel Mar College is seeking a Student Assistant for the Center for Early Learning. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in meeting the needs of young children while modeling appropriate teaching and caregiving practices for Child Development/Education students.
Responsibilities
Assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of a group of young children
Model for Child Development/Education (CDEC) students appropriate teaching and care-giving practices
Qualification
Required
Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed
Knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards as well as developmentally appropriate teaching and care-giving practices for children 18 months through 5 years
Strong written and verbal communication skills in communicating with other staff, parents, DMC students and faculty as well as modeling appropriate language, vocabulary and writing for children
Preferred
Enrolled in 6 credit hours of Early Childhood courses while employed
Completion of 6 credit hours in Child Development or Early Education OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (transcript required with application)
Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (documentation of current certification required with application)
Food Handler's Certificate (documentation of current certification required with application)
