Lead Manufacturing Engineer

GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Chemical Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and optimize departmental operations. The role focuses on driving technical excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring the successful startup and sustained performance of new process units, and enhancing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost for a fiber coating process.

Responsibilities

Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy in a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
Proposes different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Facilitation of proper management of changes originating from unit needs
Lead or assist in delivering technical training to operators
Initiate projects to improve the process
Extensive troubleshooting and optimization of the process

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Chemical Safety)

Preferred

Prior experience with unit startup and commission activities preferred
5-10 years of chemical manufacturing experience
At least 2 years of experience in PSM covered manufacturing
Fundamental understanding of one or more problem-solving methods (RCA, DMAIC, FMEA, etc.)
Experience working within Lean/Six-Sigma manufacturing systems
